CLEAN THE WORLD SERVICE TRIP TO CHICAGO
The Service Companies launched a contest where one employee could win a trip to Chicago to deliver hygiene kits to underserved youth, in conjunction with Clean The World and Caesars Entertainment
Las Vegas, NV – For the fourth consecutive year, The Service Companies has partnered with Clean The World and Caesars Entertainment to host a contest among The Service Companies and Caesars Entertainment employees, sending the winners to an underserved area to assemble and distribute hygiene kits to youth.
This year, the four-day Clean The World trip took place in Chicago, with attendees and winners assembling hygiene kits that included items like soap, toothpaste and a toothbrush. The Service Companies selected Florence Agbigay, a Housekeeper at one of The Service Companies’ luxury casino properties in Lake Tahoe, for her contribution to Clean The World’s mission.

Around a million soap bars are thrown away by hotels in the United States each year. Clean The World collects discarded hotel hygiene items, re-purposes them in a sanitary manner, and distributes them to people who are at risk of contracting hygiene-related illnesses. Clean The World’s programs benefit underprivileged people throughout North America and around the world by providing access to soap and hygiene education. Florence, along with all The Service Companies’ housekeepers at properties that partner with Clean The World, pay an integral role in this process by collecting the partially used soaps.
Steve Wilson, President and CEO of The Service Companies, says, “It is an honor for The Service Companies to continue our partnership with Clean The World and Caesars Entertainment. Not only does the work our housekeepers do in collecting the used soaps and amenities reduce environmental waste, but it also helps communities in need throughout our country and North America. We are proud to be supporters of this program and look forward to continuing this partnership in the future.”
The winners and attendees, including Florence, arrived on October 24th and were welcomed with a dinner and orientation. Between October 25th and 27th, the attendees assembled 1,500 hygiene kits and distributed them at the Carmelite Home, Haven House and Guardian Angel Community Services, where they were given facility tours, met with the children receiving the kits and participated in presentations teaching the children the proper way to wash their hands and brush their teeth. The resounding highlight of the trip was the opportunity to meet and teach good hygiene practices to the youth, which enabled each attendee to see how their efforts throughout the year collecting used soap, can directly impact someone less fortunate’s life.
