The Service Companies was founded in Miami in May 1987 by its founding owners. It was one of the first third shift cleaning companies and the company focused on marble floor care and kitchen cleaning to the hospitality industry in Southern Florida. Over the course of the next ten years, the company expanded throughout the Southeast and was selected as an opening partner for The Ritz-Carlton brand.
In 2002, The Service Companies expanded its service offering to the Gaming industry: turn-key casino and public area cleaning and stewarding services. These services were introduced at the company’s first gaming customer in Northern Nevada and expanded to other regions. In 2008 the company was acquired from the founders by private equity firms, Apriori Capital and Vision Capital Partners. Following the acquisition, an elite team of hotel and casino executives was brought on to fully launch the new vision for The Service Companies: to become the premier provider of services to the hospitality and gaming industry. Shortly after, in 2009, The Service Companies introduced its turn-key housekeeping model to the industry, which has become the company’s specialty in the managed services segment.
Under Steve Wilson and the new leadership team, The Service Companies expanded nationwide through organic growth as well as strategic acquisitions. JRS International was acquired in 2010, bringing the nation’s specialty services provider to the luxury hospitality industry under The Service Companies. Further acquisitions include a laundry operation in Florida in 2014, the company’s first off-site and fully owned laundry facility, Acrobat Outsourcing in 2015, and Drake Staffing and Majesty Hospitality Staffing, both in 2016. The acquisitions of Acrobat Outsourcing, Drake Staffing and Majesty Hospitality Staffing expanded The Service Companies’ offering to include food & beverage and hospitality staffing, making the company a true one-stop-shop for all services to the hospitality and gaming industry.
